George Dimitriu was born on 1967 and lives in Romania. He is writer, member of the Union of Professional Journalists of Romania and editor-in-chief of the independent magazine Oasis of Culture.
He has published the volumes of short prose A new life and A platonic love, the volume of literary reports Through wonderful Europe and the SF novel The last dictator, part of the trilogy The Planetary Society.
He also published SF prose, poems, essays, interviews, aphorisms, literary reports, prose in over 120 magazines from Romania, U.S.A., U.K., Serbia, Canada, Germany, Austria, Spain, Poland, Slovenia, Turkey, Albania, Slovakia, Moldavia, France, Ecuador, Chile, India, Australia, Mexico and twelve anthologies.
He prefaced the Brazilian SF anthology União Galáctica Ancestral (Nebula publishing house, 2025) and participated at the național science-fiction conventions ROMCON, AntareSFest, at the eighth International Conference (virtual) of SF organized by the Indian Association for Science Fiction Studies (as a special guest) and is multiple national award winner for prose, interview, literary reportage. He also gave lectures at Romcon and AntareSFest, the national science fiction conferences in Romania.
He also received a mention at the Național Short SF Prose Competition Helion and is winner of the Short prose after image contest, organized by Agora of the ARTS magazine.
